Chocolate isn't an essential part of your balanced diet. On the other hand, chocolate is a legitimate food, and, like many other foods, a perfectly acceptable treat when consumed in moderation. Ah, but there's the rub. For who can be moderate when offered a treat so rich and luscious. Without doubt, chocolate is one of our favorite foods, and has been for centuries. For the ancient Aztecs, chocolate even assumed religious and ceremonial significance. Not surprisingly, chocolate is steeped in mythology. But let's move beyond myth. It's time to find out what you know about chocolate and its effects on the body.
